Why did I start Geek Box?
I have been a collector of all things geek for over 20 years. A former coworker introduced me to Magic the Gathering (MTG) in 2016. He noticed me playing Hearthstone ((HS) an online trading card game (TCG) during my break and thought MTG would be right up my alley. HS and MTG have many similarities (resource management, strategy, and role playing), so MTG was easy to pick up. The differences between the TCGs are in the complexities or minutia of MTG (I will cover basic rules in a future blog).
Who are my customers?
Broadly, my customers are people who enjoy MTG currently or are interested in finding a new hobby. Maybe you are a geeky collector yourself (whether it be TCGs, Action Figures, Funko Pops, Comic Books, etc.). You may enjoy the social aspect of getting together with old friends, or making new ones. Perhaps you are a completionist who is looking for their holy grail. Lastly, my customers are people looking to start, grow, or expand their MTG collection.
What is in the box?
My goal is for customers to be surprised and delighted every month. Each box will contain: at least three (or more) MTG packs from various expansions, and at least two (or more) different accessories. We have done our research, and everything in the box is player tested and approved. You will also have a chance to rate how much you liked or disliked products, as well as provide us with suggestions for future products. Satisfaction is guaranteed, so if you are truly dissatisfied with your box, we will do what we can to make it right.
Where can I get it?
Geek Box is expecting to launch in the next 30-90 days. In the meantime, you can express your interest by joining our wait-list. You can also follow us on social media for frequent updates. We are based in Portland, Oregon. Local pickup and delivery options are available.
When do you ship?
Our subscription cutoff is the 15th of each current month for the following month’s box. Boxes are shipped the first business day of each month. As boxes ship, previous month’s boxes and products will be available for purchase. These purchases are shipped as soon as possible. All shipments are insured and tracked
How do I sign up?
Joining the wait list is easy. First, choose your preferred method of communication (You can find us on Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok). Next, let us know which of the three subscription tiers you are interested in. Once you have notified us, you will receive a confirmation email that you successfully been added to the waitlist. Our website is still under construction, but you will be able to subscribe once we launch.
